George W. Bush Biography

George Walker Bush (born July 6, 1946) is an American politician, who served as President of the USA 43, 2001-2009. Before that, he was 46 The governor of Texas, serving from 1995 to 2000.

Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He is the eldest son of Barbara Bush, and President George HW Bush 41, making him the only U.S. president John Quincy Adams, also a son of the former president. He is also the brother of Jeb Bush, former governor of Florida.

After graduating from Yale University in 1968 and Harvard Business School in 1975, worked for Bush in the oil companies. He married Laura Welch in 1977 and ran unsuccessfully in the House of Representatives shortly thereafter. He later co-owner of the baseball team Texas Rangers before defeating Ann Richards in 1994 Texas gubernatorial election. In a close election and controversial, Bush was elected president in 2000 as the Republican candidate, defeating Vice President Al Gore in the electoral college.

At the beginning of the Bush administration withdrew a number of international treaty-making, especially the Kyoto Protocol on global warming.
