Don't ask, don't tell

Do not ask, do not tell "(DADT) was official U.S. policy on homosexuals serving the military December 21, 1993  September 20, 2011. " The law prohibits any homosexual or bisexual orientation to disclose sexual or homosexual relationship, including marriages or other family attributes, while serving in the armed forces of the United States. The law specifies that members of the services that prove they are gay or engage in homosexual behavior should be separated (high), unless the conduct of a service member was "to prevent or termination of military service" or "would not be in the interest of the forces armed forces ".

The "do not ask" part of DADT policy stated that his superiors not to investigate the orientation of a service member's behavior without seeing dismissed, if credible evidence of homosexual conduct could be used to initiate an investigation. Unauthorized investigations and harassment of military women suspects and led to an expansion of the policy of "do not ask, do not tell, do not pursue, do not bother."
A bill in Congress to repeal DADT was adopted in December 2010 stating that the policy will remain in place until the President, the Defence Minister and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff certified that the waiver would not harm military readiness, followed by a 60 day lag.  A. July 6, 2011 by a decision of federal appeals court blocked further action to the U.S. ban on openly gay military service members  Barack Obama, Leon Panetta, the Minister of Defence and Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, sent the certification to Congress July 22, 2011, defining the end of DADT September 20, 2011 .
